I am trying to set up an rsync automated backup from Kerio running on Mac OS X 10.5.8 to a backup Mac running 10.4.11 using launchd.

I have the keys set up and working for ssh. I am having a problem with the actual rsync command getting a permissions error when trying to copy /usr/local/kerio.

Using the command line with sudo, rsync works fine.

I have saved the launchd file into the /Library/LaunchDaemons folder (actually Lingon did) and the permissions look OK. In theory anything run from/Library/LaunchDaemons should be run as root.

Checking the logs I see permissions errors when trying to access /usr/local/kerio.

Any ideas?

Have you tried running the rsync command from root's crontab?

I had this problem on an OS X Server box one time. Save your rsync command into a text file, make it executable, and then use Lingon to execute the command instead.
