Hi ,

A new feature on Kerio Connect Beta is Kerio Connector for BlackBerry.
How do it works? Somebody have try?

With this, can i directly synchronise BlackBerry with KerioConnect or i also need a Black Berry Server?

Thank you for your response and sorry for my poor English!

It works but is still in beta.
Yes you need a BlackBerry Enterprise Server or BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express(free), The BES server runs on Windows Server and you run that on a separate server from Kerio Connect

What would be the advantages of using Kerio with BESX v.s. NotifySync/AstraSync? NotifySync has its own special client-side setup and costs some, but it requires no server install and otherwise IMO works fine. The only little complaint, reported to Notify Corp, was that forwarding e-mails in NotifySync caused the e-mails to be attached as .eml files (like "forward as attachment"), which don't display nicely on some clients like gmail. This can be avoided by instead using reply and changing the send-to address though.

The admin guide says "Warning: Although BlackBerry Enterprise Server, Kerio Connector for BlackBerry and Kerio Connect can be installed on one computer, for performance and OS-load it is recommended to install Kerio Connect on another computer."

It's all about client demands and people ask for BES. Notify and Astra are good program but some people just want the BES. We are a hosting provider and for us it makes since to run a BES to let our client chose what they want to use.

We took the warning like this "its not recommended"! Also we run kerio on linux and for us we had to put it on a separate server.
