Hi,

I run KC 7.0.2 for 160 users, some of them are BB users and up till now I could not satisfy their needs for OTA calendar/contact sync, so I rejoiced when I read about the upcoming beta with BES(express) support. Now, we run our mail on a XServe inside our premises, so people from outside access it via our external IP associated with our fiber connection.

We have unused Windows Server 2003 and Exchange 2003 licenses. My question is, can I run the BB setup on a separate server/VM and still make the user able to access/configure the service from outside? How should I map the NAT ports (I have a cisco firewall)? Doesn't the BB configuration work on the same port 80 of the mail server? Do I need to host the server somewhere else (or get additional IP's for my connection)?

thanks in advance for your replies.

We just started testing Kerio 7.1.0 beta with BES server. Works great so far. The way we have ours setup is BES on another server. All our servers are Server 2003 R2. First you need to install the Kerio Blackberry connector then install BES. There are no need to change any IP or NAT settings. You only have to open port 3101, that's the port BES uses to get outside. The users can still access the email through the same address or IP.

Are you talking about the Blackberry Web Desktop or what do you mean by that?

We are currently implementing also and have installed everything ready to go, a pretty straightforward process really, just make sure you use the same AD user ID to install the kerio blackberry connector and BES.

One thing I am trying to figure out is if you can change the email address which is shown as the FROM address in the blackberry activation email.
We currently use a dummy domain as our primary domain and it seems to be using that domain as the email domain in the activation email and is being caught as spam which is a pain, I can't find any settings in the kerio connector or BES to change or set the FROM email address for the activation emails.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
Paul
