I'd like to restrict what mail is received to a user's mailbox to senders from a specific domain (actually a parent domain). Is this possible?

Eg, I create a user1<_at_>foo.blah.com. I want this user only able to get email from anyone at blah.com.

The parent domain is not serviced by my mail server, only the foo.blah.com domain is.

I don't care if the rejected mail is seen as spam, etc. i just don't want it to get to the mailbox of user1.

If this restriction is only for one user, then you have to create a user filter (in web mail). If this restriction if for the whole domain, you can use the system-wide Spam filter.

A question is also: Should he be able to send to the parent domain only or should he be able to send to any domain?

The restriction will apply only to the account. If I set the restriction in webmail, will it be applied even if I'm not logging into the account normally via webmail?

I don't believe the user needs to send mail.

Some more detail on what I'm trying to do.

We're using Clearspace (Jive) communities. They have a feature where you can start a forum thread by sending an email. We'd like to enable this, but only for users w/ in the company. Each community/forum has a unique email address like forum1<_at_>forums.company.com.

Currently the Kerio mail server is being used to receive mail for forum replies as replies<_at_>forums.company.com. (so it owns forums.company.com).

So I can't block the whole domain, because it's ok to have replies from non-company users.

So for the forum accounts - forum1@forums.company.com, forums2@forums.company.com, etc I only want to take email from *<_at_>company.com. (company.com is being serviced by exchange, notes, whatever).

Clearspace uses POP3 to pull down the messages (hence my question about when the per-user filters will apply)

Thoughts?

Rules you set in Webmail are all Server-Side rules, so, yes, they also apply if you are not logged into Web Mail.
