Got an interesting call today from a user who has received multiple Out of Office replies from someone in our organization - here are the log entries

[07/Aug/2010 06:11:33][12664] {qproc} SEND_LOCAL: Started delivery of queued message id=4c5c4947-0000f1fc sender=<1111<_at_>>

[07/Aug/2010 06:11:33][12664] {sieve} Delivering message with queue ID 4c5c4947-0000f1fc to user 2222<_at_>

[07/Aug/2010 06:11:33][12664] {sieve} Executing sieve script for user 2222<_at_>
[07/Aug/2010 06:11:33][12664] {sieve} Performing action VACATION
[07/Aug/2010 06:11:33][12664] {sieve} Performing action IMPLICIT KEEP
[07/Aug/2010 06:11:33][12664] {qproc} SEND_LOCAL: Result for recipient 2222<_at_> delayed, Status: 4.2.2 User quota exceeded
[07/Aug/2010 06:11:33][12664] {qproc} SEND_LOCAL: Delivery finished

It looks like the server generates the autoreply before the mailbox quota exceeded error, so the sender is now hit with 2 messages - an autoreply and then a delivery failure. 30 minutes later the delivery is attempted again, and the sender gets 2 more messages.

Temporarily, I have increased the quota to resolve this. Hopefully we will see a fix where the OOO is not sent if there is another error condition present.
