Dear All.

I have managed to install BES express on XP machine succesfully. And all my devices are activated on BES. It is really cool that Kerio did this. But today I have a little from about forwarding messages with attachment from device. As soon as I hit send makes a red X mark. There is a message that I need to re-send it. When I do that it sends without attachment. Looks like device cannot find the original message. Any one solved this problem... Confused

Hi,

sorry I cannot help you, but at least I can say that I am also experimenting with BESX (and fearing that this big beast will squash me at some time Wink

Did you install all on one machine? How did you configure LDAP then?
I am stuck at setup (see my posting ).

Sorry again for providing questions instead of answers. Embarassed
Kind regards,
Philipp

well I have AD 2008r2 and xp machine running connect and control. I 've installed kerio blackberry connect first and than BESX all went well but you have to install administrative tools on xp as well. After all I even activated ent. mail. All my contacts, notes etc... synced but I can't seem to forward e-mails. Also I have noticed that some services of BES stops or crashes. I will give it a try next week on 2008 server. I will post results here...

I am not sure if I understand correctly -- you mean you have kerio on a windows XP machine, so its a different machine than the windows domain controller?

Yes I also had some BES services crash, in my case this seemed to have been partly a problem with my SQL server express (now I use a static port).

thanks, and I a curious about your results.

Anyone find a solution to forward e-mails with attachment. Everything works fine except that !!! Need HELP !

Ps.: Don't install BEX on XP machine. Works at the begining but later gives too many errors on services. Not recommended !!!

Probably because there is some limit in max. IP connections per time on XP - Im not sure but I remember sth like that.

I tried out BESX on XP. My Kerio is running on a separate Win2K3 server though. According to my research, SP3 for XP removed the limit on TCP connections but mine is really unreliable anyway. I don't think I set it up right at all.

It worked beautifully for a while, now when it boots, it runs fine for a bit, then a service quits over and over until it decides it can't restart the service for 24 hours. It was only serving 3 blackberries!

I am trying to build another 2K3 machine to replace it but its proving difficult to build it off-site.

Windows XP is not supported by RIM as a host OS for BES Express, see

I'm having this exact problem. Kerio need to acknowledge this issue ASAP. I have an open support ticket but no information yet. This is what I put:

We have a problem were users cannot forward emails on the blackberry with attachments, I just tried this myself with a brand new blackberry, and got the same errors.

When trying to forward an email with an attachment, the following is logged to the event log:

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: BlackBerry Extension 1
RpcMoreStatus is called. [BH=1641392, TI=535322977, ST=0, EM=user<_at_>domain.com]

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: BlackBerry Messaging Agent 1
{user<_at_>domain.com} MAPIMailbox::RIMAttachtoMAPIAttach - OpenProperty (0x8004010f) failed

One user is causing loads of the following errors:

"{user<_at_>domain.com} MsgMemStateDb::GetRefIdByEntryId(uc*,l) - EntryId is 0"

On the blackberry it says:

"Message status: Mailbox couldn't find original message, if forwarding or replying please resend this message"

If you try to resend the message, it gets sent without the attachment. I guess this is related to the "MAPIMailbox::RIMAttachtoMAPIAttach - OpenProperty (0x8004010f) failed" error.
