We just upgraded to version 7.1.0 and now we are getting a lot of

Result: delayed, Status: 4.4.2 Connection lost

These delays are not consistent but still a problem.

I read some old threads about the connection lost issue and this doesn't seem to be a DNS (forward or reverse) issue.

Any help is appreciated.

Because of the inconsistency this is tough to trouble shoot. What I ended up doing was flushing the DNS on my primary DNS server for my organizations and also flushing it on the mail server. I also set a special exception in our content filter to not filter anything from the mail servers address and the combination of these 2 resolved the issue.

I am 60% sure that the DNS flushing is what resolved our issue. The reason I believe that is it took a couple hours for the mail to be delivered after implementing both solutions and out content filter changes are instantaneous

Hope this was helpful.
