We are currently running "GuardianPro" firewall on NT4. Unfortunately this firewall is not developped further and the company who made it has shut down. Since we are going to upgrade this machine to Win2K and GuardianPro does NOT run with Win2K, we are evaluating alternatives.

The mentioned software as a nifty feature to lock out intruders with "temporary rules". For instance it is possible to issue an alert and completely block a certain IP address for xx minutes if yy "short tcp connects" are detected within zz minutes. This might be a port scan or a repeated login attempt. This is a great help preventing brute-force attacks and reduces bandwidth.

Can a similar result be achieved with the WinRoute Firewall?
