So, Office 2011 for Mac is out in October and Outlook 2011 in it will use EWS. This means that it won't work (at least in an Exchange account way) with Kerio Connect. We'll have to use IMAP accounts until Kerio build EWS support into Connect.
Anyone have any comments on this? This is a major problem for us in a mixed platform environment with Office as the standard productivity suite. We've deployed Office 2010 to all our PC users and it works well with Connect (so far!).
I've spoken to Kerio and there is no commitment to EWS support in Connect 7.2, although this may be because they are still under NDA and unable to comment at all until NDA expires.
I've been playing with Beta 6 of Office 2011 and it does seem very nice. Will be a shame if we have to go Word, Excel, & Powerpoint 2011 and stick with Entourage 2008 for Connect compatibility or, even worse, switch everyone to Mail, iCal, Address Book.
Does anyone know any more on this front? Anyone from Kerio care to tell us when EWS support will be available for Connect?
Last thing we've been informed was that they were attempting to get Kerio Connect updated to work with Outlook 2011 upon it's release.
I've also heard through another means that this may not occur until Kerio Connect 8.
