One of my users reported that he sent several emails today that were never delivered. After clicking send he saw the "Sending Message" message and the message screen disappeared like it always does which usually means the message was successfully sent. The message had some time critical information so very shortly aftwards he received a message asking when he was going to send the information. He checked his Sent Mail folder and the message was not there. He then replied to the inquiry, sent the reply but that message was not delivered either nor present in the Sent Mail folder. This same thing happened on at least one other message he sent today.

I checked the mail logs and could not find and entry for the sending or receiving of the emails in question. We then sent several test emails from his account to the same people while I monitored his account and the logs. This time the emails were sent and showed up in the mail logs. I don't know what else to check.

I upgraded to Connect 7.1 patch 1 this past weekend. The server is Windows 2003 Server. We use Webmail only and the clients are Windows XP SP3 using IE 8 fully patched.

No other user has experienced this problem.

Has anyone else experienced this type of problem with 7.1 on a Windows server?

Haven't had such a behaviour yet.

Did you look at the error log and the warning log in the KC server?

Can you reproduce this by sending the exact same mail with the same attachments again? If not, it will be very difficult to troubleshoot.

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce it. The more I think about it the problem could have been a user error.
