We are exploring using the Securence Cypher Mail product to send and receive encrypted email. Encrypted email is received as an HTML attachment which you have to open and then click a READ button to open the email. The READ button is not being displayed therefore the email cannot be read.

It appears that Kerio strips something and I wanted to send the source of the email to Securence but Kerio does not allow the "View Source" option once you open an email.

What is the format of an opened email? Does Kerio strip or not support certain formats in their email such that it prevents the READ button from displaying?

Well, if the "Kerio" means Kerio WebMail client then the answer is yes. WebMail is protecting users and prevents XSS and other web-based attacks when displaying HTML in email body. If you contact our technical support and provide some example email we could check it and try to find out if there is a way how to display it.
BTW: source of the email can be displayed by right-click on the message and selecting an option "View source".

I tried to right click in the message and could not get the "view source" option to display. Tried it with IE8 , Firefox and Safari.

I forwarded your response and they may be contacting Kerio.

We are having a similar problem:
Our bank sends secure emails using Voltage Zero Download Messenger. Our Financial Officer can not open the secure email.
The email arrives with an html attachment - when you open the attachment there is supposed to be a button to click that opens the secure email - when using Kerio connect and Internet Explorer, there is no button to click. If we use Outlook as the client the button is there. She would rather use the Kerio Web Client.

Thanks,
Julie

Further up in this thread Kerio_Pdobry told me the following:

"WebMail is protecting users and prevents XSS and other web-based attacks when displaying HTML in email body. If you contact our technical support and provide some example email we could check it and try to find out if there is a way how to display it."

In our case the vendor of the product we were evaluating did contact Kerio and determined they would have to do something on their end to correct the issue. Since they were in the middle of the product launch they did not have the time. As a result we went with another vendor.

You will probably have to get the vendor of Voltage Zero Download Messenger to contact Kerio and see what can be done.
