Hi,

i tried Thunderbird 3 with the latest SOGo Connector Nightly Release (http://inverse.ca/downloads/extensions/nightly/) but the Addressbook didn't sync or even asked me for an account.

I used follow server address taken from OSX Addressbook.app:
1) https://{server}/carddav/users/{domain.tld}/{username}/
2) https://{server}/carddav/users/{domain.tld}/{username}/Conta cts

Has someone successfully setup Thunderbird with SOGo Connector for CardDAV or does it even work with the Kerio Connect Server?

Question related to this: Where can i find the CardDAV Logfiles?
Found out myself, debug log - right click - logging options - enable webdav!

Sincerely
pal

I'm trying this as well and would love to know from a Kerio VIP whether or not it's even possible. Thunderbird support would be a boon!

If it's any help, I'm successfully using t-bird w/ lightning, and looking up entries from the server's global address list sing LDAP. No issues other than having to search the knowledge base a bit to find the correct url synteax.

Good is better than evil because it's nicer

Nod. It'd just be nice to have 2-way sync. Editing an address card on LDAP isn't possible. Also Thunderbird doesn't derive full contact info such as phone numbers and addresses from all the contacts in the LDAP directory.

Any luck configuring it after a few days?

No progress no. Had to abandon this in favor of Outlook. Hopefully Kerio designs a thunderbird addon for this...

Or Kerio add the SOGo carddav support in his product ...

+1 for this request - it looks like it's almost working with the sogo connector but not quite; just a matter of URL syntax maybe? Would love to see a supported solution for this from Kerio - it would complete the out-of-outlook experience.

Yes... this would be huge for us since we're migrating users away from Entourage to Thunderbird (to save the license), but for now users have to sync with the Mac OS X Adress Book and not use Thunderbirds own. That's not really intuitive.

Calenders work fine with Lightning.

Checking in on this topic again. Would really like to hear if thunderbird carddav will be supported in Kerio Connect. There are lots of competing SMB email products and services out there...

+1 on CardDAV for Thunderbird. According to the Thunderbird developer info/Bugzilla info noone is currently working on write support etc. for CardDAV. Unfortunately Mozilla's voting system is far too "techie"-focused so I believe they are getting very biased input on feature requests.

A Kerio Thunderbird add-on, or Kerio actually implementing true CardDAV to the Thunderbird source code (I believe Kerio actually would have a lot to win doing that, moneywise and other) would be really, really great!

Did some further research into this, one way of bringing the Thunderbird CardDav / LDAP write support issue into the daylight is to, for example, go through the Suggest Idea-feature in the Kerio Connect web admin.

In Kerio's feedback system there is an idea named "Thunderbird contact / addressbook synchronization plugin" where you can vote to indicate the importance/interest for the feature.

From what I know many people would like to see these features being addressed, but very few express it, so take the opportunity and vote for this issue.

An alternative way into the feedback/voting system is to go to:

Is there any update regarding this topic?

I've tried as well with sogo connector 10.0.1 and kerio-connect 7.4.0. But the same results as stated above.
Is there any solution at all for a Mail-client on a Ubuntu Desktop to get contacts properly working bidirectional with a kerio mailserver? That we have to try with connectors from "competition" is kind of sad...
