Hi there.
Yesterday I did a fresh installation of kerio connect and bes express in a virtual environment just for testing.
Following the guide, I can say everything went smoothly. All installed without errors. At the first startup, the web admin console of besx recognized correctly my domain's users set on kerio connect and I could add a user and then wirelessly register a 8520 bb terminal.
Today, the day after, without touching anything related to initial setup (obviously! ), my users are no longer recognized?!?!?!? No way to discover a new user. Already tried a reboot on both vm machines but without success.
Kerio connect 7.1.1 , windows server 2008 r2 64bit.
By the way, my bb 8520 seems to work!
I just notice a long delay in sync when I delete an item( mail or contact or task). It takes 4-5 minutes for the replication to complete. Sending or receiving an item is pretty in real time!
Thanks and regards.

Hey there ... from my experience with BES, there is a 10 minute batch sync time. I believe this is what is used to mark messages as read, deleted, or filed. You can see this for yourself, on the device go to options, advanced options, enterprise activation. Then scroll down to the bottom and hold left ALT and type "cnfg."

Also for the users not recognized, check the Windows Application log (in Event Viewer) for anything of type: User xxx failed to start. This usually (for me) means that that user didnt import correctly. By deleting the user, waiting a bit, then re-adding almost always fixes. It is also rare.

Hi

If BES doesn't display new user from Connect, try to wait. It can take up to one hour to update changes in user list.
If BES doesn't display even users diplayed day before, it is probably some more serious issue. Try check BlackBerry Mailstore Service log (in BES logs it is file containing MAST in the name) if it is working at all.

As for the synchronization delay, BES is really doing some regular checks.
Most changes (new mail, modifications in groupware objects) are synchronized immediately. Nevertheless message deletion (along with any changes done while BES down, message movement etc.) are synchronized just during these regular checks.
It seems that this is BES native behavior, we had similar experience while testing BES with Exchange

Yes, the delay in syncing deletions or read/unread status is normal to BES. There are two mechanisms in BES:

  • Redirection: Happens immediately (e.g. a new mail hits the Inbox)
  • Reconciliation: Happens around every 15 minutes (e.g. a mail turns from unread to read or mail is deleted)

You can force the reconciliation immediately by choosing "Reconcile Now" from the menu within your message list.
