Sorry for my bad english

I have to configure a 3 PCs LAN. The SO of the server is Windows Server 2003 while clients use Windows XP Professional. The Internet protocol is PPPoE.
My problem is that I've installed Kerio Winroute Firewall 5 on Win Server 2003 to share the Internet connection, but Windows Update works only on Win 2003. When I start Wndows Update on the clients, it doesn't download anything. On the contrary, if I directly connect each one of the clients directly to the modem, Windows Update works fine. Could you please help me?
Thank you.

same problem here.

using 5.10 with a 3COM 3C17300 Superstack Switch 4226T.

Win2003 server updates fine...but the damned win2000(SP4) boxes won't. its always the c0008 error, of which i've been struggling with the last few days. none of the suggestions are working.

thanks for any help.

I guess it can be problem with MTU on client computers since Windows updates sometime use HTTPS.

Try to search this forum for similar threads.
There is also some useful information at http://www.kerio.com/us/supp_wrp_pppoe.html.

I solved the windows update problem and the pop3 time-outs on the clients using the RASPPPOE 0.98 instead of the win2003 built-in support for PPPOE. I hope this may help people who have similar problems

I would have to agree with Ares7170 : Firewall 5 + Rassppoe 0.98 works very well, all clients (XP, 2000WKS and 2000SRV) can get their Windows updates and any other stuff without problems.

You may also want to download tcpoptimizer from www.speedguide.net to verify that packet fragmentation is not causing your problems.
