I tried to install the current Operator beta as a Hyper-V VM but failed at an early stage "...unpacking installation image" with an error of "Installation failed" "Error 2".

What's that?

Hi,

VMWare (Player, Server, ESX) and XEN are the only virtual platforms currently supported.

It's just that we have Hyper-V servers and clusters in place at almost every customer and of course in our own environments, too.
So any other but Hyper-V is not an option for us.

Hi,

What do you mean by KVM?

Operator uses a custom kernel and in order to work well with a particular hypervisor, we need to have the guest add-ons.
