Hi,

Can we please have a list of needed ports for operator?

Regards,

Hi,

Operator listens on the following ports:

TCP 80, 443, 4021 for the admin/user console.
22/TCP for ssh (can be switched on/off)
5060/TCP and 5060/UDP for SIP signaling
69/UDP for TFTP (provisioning)

RTP is using the UDP interval 10000 through 20000 inclusive

But it would be a bad idea to open all these to the internet. You should be as restrictive as possible, for example only allow SIP communication from the IP addresses of you SIP provider and from your local phones.

When trying to connect via SSH, what is the password? Is there a default password that is set? For some reason my operator stopped responding, but I can hit SSH; just don't know how to login?!

Hi, the root password is the same as the Admin password.

Hmm ... I was trying that, I'll do more testing. Thanks.

Not sure if I am doing something wrong, but I can't SSH into Operator from remote. I have unchecked the SSH console to allow local, so I should be able to ssh remote. I get the login prompt, but none of my passwords work. Even when I reset the password to something simple it does not work.

So that is a good list of all the ports that *may* be required.

What are the ports I should be opening to the internet specifically in order to use Softphones (either Kerio Operator Softphone or others) from a variety of network connections without VPN.

What other things should be done to ensure the most secure use of softphones?
