I tried to connect newly installed Kerio Workspace to our Windows Server 2003 AD but got the simple bind failed.

[03/Nov/2010 13:53:20] WARN: Exception when invoking method Domains.testConnection: Cannot connect to LDAP server for domain us-telecoms.local: simple bind failed: server03.us-telecoms.local:636
com.kerio.workspace.DirectoryServiceException: Cannot connect to LDAP server for domain us-telecoms.local: simple bind failed: server03.us-telecoms.local:636

Please let me know what i did wrong? thank you.

By directory service have you done the following steps:

Domain Name: {full domain name: localdomain.local)
Directory Service Type: Active Directory

Check "Use the specified directory servers" (works best)
Primary Directory server:
srv-dc-01.localdomain.local

Optional secondary
srv-dc-02.localdomain.local

No SSL Wink (works better)
Username: administrator<_at_>localdomain.local
password: ***********

then test connection. and it must work.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

The only advise at this moment i can give you is put Workspace not on a DC. BTW: Backup Domain Controller doesn't exist with W2k0,W2k3 or W2k8. That was old name with NT4.
It's primair and secondar etc etc DC.
But I got Workspace not on a DC but on a member and even on a Linux system.

It would be very wise for you to post all the information you are typing on each field.

I had the same issue and fixed it... let me see exactly what you typed.
