I beta testing a Cisco 7960 IP Phone and reboots after it requests configuration. I manually configured TFTP server IP address, statically assigned phone IP address. Then rebooted, it goes to COnfiguring VLAn, COnfiguring IP, Requesting configuration then says "Resetting". It does this over and over.

I've done a factory reset to default and same results.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Try to activate the IP phone provisioning message in the debug log. Is there anything of interest?

Hi,

What version of Operator do you have? What is the firmware version in the 7960? Did you upload a newer firmware version to Operator?

It looks like you are trying to upgrade to a new firmware but the phone is not able to handle the automatic update. With older firmwares, you first need to upgrade to some in-between version manually. Check this Cisco page.

Is there a minimum firmware requirement fro these CIsco phones? Here's what I'm running.

SIP firmware version 7.5 (P0S3-07-5-00)

Hi,

We have tested Cisco 7960 with firmware 8.11 (PS03-08-11) and above. Can you upgrade your phone manually to this or newer version?

I guess I hit the end of the road. Don't have access to Cisco's 8.11 firmware.

You need a login to their site be able to download firmwares. But I guess that as a customer you should be entitled to that.

I'm a reseller but not Cisco. But for their competitor so I'll have no luck with that.
