I'm seeing a few of these in my warning log:

Cannot read size of core file: /cores/core.2901. The file is possible missing.

The number varies in the name.

Any ideas on what is causing this?

I had a system lockup over the weekend, which is when the errors started appearing. I updated to 7.1.3 today, but the entries keep appearing. I've got no idea of where I can find this file or what I need to do to recreate or fix it.

I've looked through the forums here, but don't find any mention of this.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Cheers,
Jon

The file is a coredump - an image of how the memory looked when a fatal crash happened. Unless you want to do some serious debugging these files can be deleted. Why KC wants to read coredumps is beyond me.

Have you searched for the file on all partitions? Are there any files in /core?

Something like
find / -name core.2901 -print

should turn up something. The search will probably take a while.

The reason I think I'm getting them is that KC crashed on Boxing Day and has been rather flakey ever since. Pretty much every time I go into the Web Admin or the Admin app I've been asked to send info to Kerio on the crashes. Now that, along with your explanation makes sense.

I'm going to swap out the hardware tonight/tomorrow and see if that resolves the problems.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers,
Jon
