Hello,

Some users reported to us that sometimes, recipients do not received their attached files. But the message is received perfectly.

All users with this problem are under Macos Mail (10.6).

Status of the mail in mail.log is always delivered.

This problem seems to be unpredictible. This in not due to size file limit. In a mailing list, some users received the file, some not.

This seems not to be explain by Anti-spams services of recipients mail infrastructure.

Does someone have similar problem ?

Is there a way how we could investigate this problem ?

We are running kerio-connect 7.1.0 under RHEL5.

Thanks,

lv.

We have this problem as well, as receiver of mail. But only from one sender. If there are three or four attachment, some of them do not appear in Apple Mail 10.6. But they are present in Webmail as well as in Outlook on PC.

Try rebuilding the Apple Mail Envelope Index.

We did a test sending an attached file via Mail :

File is not received
Webmail : file is correctly received.

The pdf file size is only 263 kb.

We will try rebuilding the Apple Mail Envelope Index.

Hi there.

  • What exact version of Mac OS X 10.6 client are you running?
  • What exact version of Mail client is in use?
  • Are all software-updates applied to said client (I'm not suggesting apply all of them -- but just whether all updates are applied or not)
  • Have you tried double-checking in the Mail Archive to see if the message for that user is definitely correct (I'm sure it is -- but just double-checking)
  • Are there any special rules on the Mac client?
  • Is it consistently one client that looses the attachment?
  • Is there anything special about the attachment (e.g. extension there? secure PDF? etc.)

Cheers,
D.

I have been calling kerio support about this on and off for months. They keep saying it's apple but the problem never gets fixed with apple updates. BUT I installed outlook 2011 configured it as imap and this one user hasn't had one problem with attachemenrs. However the rest of the users using the latestest apple mail app have the sending attachment problem to PC users.

But I also have one user that I setup with a plugin for apple mail that seems to help. The website for the plugin is lokiware

We also did the same test here. Works fine from webmail but won't work with apple mail.

Anyone from kerio have an answer? Why would the above pluton fix the problem?

So, is your problem related to one-page PDFs? (Since Apple Mail displays one page PDFs as an in-line attachment (e.g. an image) rather than an icon?

That's what the lokiware plugin does -- it shows all attachments as icons, rather than showing JPGs, 1-page PDFs etc. as images.

Cheers,
D.
