I've recently setup a kerio connect server. I have domain controller running Windows Server 2008 R2. When I create a user in AD I can run the kerio connect plugin and create and email box for the user, which seems to work fine, the user appears in the Kerio Connect web interface, but when I try to log on I get in the kerio logs incorrect password. I've tried setting the password in AD to simple words with no special characters and yet I still receive the same error. Am I possibly missing something obvious, or can anyone think of what I may have done wrong? Thanks in advance

I have the same issue, this is the security log:

[10/Mar/2011 12:27:44] HTTP/WebMail: Invalid password for user prova<_at_>xxxx.it. Attempt from IP address 10.10.10.4.
[10/Mar/2011 12:27:59] HTTP/WebMail: Invalid password for user prova<_at_>xxxxx.it. Attempt from IP address 10.10.10.4.
[10/Mar/2011 12:29:02] HTTP/WebMail: Invalid password for user prova<_at_>xxxxx.IT. Attempt from IP address 10.10.10.4.

My Kconnect isn't a domain member. Maybe a problem??

If you want to authenticate users against Active Directory, you must join the server to the domain.

I'm runnning Kerio on Ubuntu server 10.04, is this possible to authenticate using kerberos? Or would I be better running Kerio on a windows server?

Hi had the same issue. I upgrade the kerio mail server to OSX 10.10.3. I followed all the instructions in http://kb.kerio.com/product/kerio-connect/troubleshooting/su pport-for-mac-os-x-1010-yosemite-1695.html and post install only local users can login.

Users that are part of the Open Directory are seen in the "users" section but fail login password. Kerio mail server is connected to the same 10.9 OD server. So no changes to binding on that OD server or upgrades.

rebinding Kerio to OD, changing bind types from kerberos to PAM made no difference

I had to change all the users from Directory users to local users, that was not a quick thing with the amount of users and groups this customer had.

Hi Robert,

Yes you can get Linux to work with AD. Have a read through this KB article:

http://kb.kerio.com/product/kerio-connect/virtual-appliance- linux/joining-kerio-connect-running-on-linux-to-open-directo ry-or-active-directory-308.html

This gives you all the steps as you will have to configure the Kerberos files in Linux so it can resolve the AD domain etc...

All the best,
Vicky
