Is there intent to add a feature to search in pdf's? this is a bit of a dealbreaker.

Hello marty,

fulltext search in PDF is supported. If it doesn't work for you, it's an issue that's definitely worth reporting in more detail.

I am experiencing exact the same problems with the following two configurations:

Configuration 1: MacBook Pro (my test server) with SnowLeopard
Configuration 2: Linux Server with Debian 5.0 32bit

Checking the server logs for configuration 2 revealed:

[03/May/2011 17:19:02] {com.kerio.workspace} WARN: Cannot parse content of item id=6, name=test.pdf
org.apache.tika.exception.TikaException: Unexpected RuntimeException from org.apache.tika.parser.pdf.PDFParser@34dd3c
at org.apache.tika.parser.CompositeParser.parse(CompositeParser .java:199)

Any solution known yet?

Thanks

Hello scar,

we've got this fixed for 1.0.1, which is now in prerelease testing phase.
