I configured several cron jobs on an OS X 10.6.7 server that hosts Kerio Connect with mailto's to a Kerio account. Cron uses postfix for mailings so I get "loops back to myself" errors.

We'd like to use Kerio as an MTA for cron, I asked support for guidance - shouldn't I be suing Kerio as the MTA in this instance and what the recommended configuration for doing so and was referred to Postfix support and told "If you have the ability to setup the cron job to authenticate against a mailserver, then there is no reason why you couldn't just authenticate against a Kerio Connect account and deliver emails directly via Kerio." I was then referred to this technote before the issue was closed as it may help:

It's somewhat useful but I'm having a tad bit of difficulty transforming the php based knowledge article into a method to get cron on OS X to use Kerio as an MTA.

Is anyone using OS X and mailing from cron jobs on a Kerio server?

Did you get cron to use Kerio as an MTA?

You must configure postfix to relay its messages trough Kerio. In other words, you need to set up Postfix' SASL, tell it what MTA to relay through and some other things. There are several howtos out there on how to do this. Google for "postfix relayhost os x" or similar.
