Guys, a very quick one - I have a user who is trying to send an email to a guy with who has an apostrophe in his email address and he tells me that although he seems to be able to send it the guy never receives the message.

Other people using other systems seem to be able to. I didn't think you could even use apostrophes in email addresses?

Thanks

Jason

hi there,
i think you might find this page useful:
http://www.remote.org/jochen/mail/info/chars.html
it seems that a ' is a valid character in a email but not likely to work in practical use...
good luck.

Is the apostrophe actually in the email address, or is it in the accompanying "friendly name"? I.e.:
"O'Hara, Scarlett <ohara<_at_>example.com>"
