Hi there,

I am trying to transfer a users database using the Backup and KMS recover tool from a Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit) to a Windows 2008r2 Server system (64-bit). I have successfully backed up the database and successfully used KMSrecover to restore the database.

However, the Connect Engine will not start on the new machine. It has a small red 'x' on the Monitor icon and if I try to manually start it, it goes grey for a second and then back to the red 'x' icon.

I have had to do this migration at the weekend as the company need their email systems during the week. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks,

Andy Williams

You need to change the directory paths in the mailserver.cfg file (as mentioned in KB article). On 32-bit Windows 7 it was 'Program Files' and now it is 'Program Files (x86)' on 64-bit system.

Worked a treat. Thanks. It's just the bit about Directories, yes? Nothing else will come back and bite me?
