Today I'm playing with the BlackBerry Connector for BES.
KC 7.2.2 is installed and working well on a Mac mini running Open Directory. Users are added to KC using Directory Services.
I'm using 2003 Server in a plain vanilla setup to just launch BES and the Kerio BlackBerry Connector for BES. Active Directory is turned on on it, but no users are in there.
My test BB is active and works, but I'd like to change some settings in BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager. This says it wants an AD account to change a user's settings. Does that mean that OD-bound users are stuck with default settings?

BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0.3 no longer allows local user accounts for Web Desktop Manager. Since the user accounts are activated from Kerio Connect server and not from Active Directory the only option is to manage user setting by administrator.
The setting is available in BES Administration Service:
1. Go to User->Manage Users and select the user.
2. Edit Messaging configuration ("Default configuration" by default).
3. The choose "E-mail" tab and click on Edit user at the bottom of the page. Now the administrator can configure properties and settings for email/contacts synchronization to the device.
