Hi,

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to prevent Skype from connecting until the user has logged into the firewall?

We have recently installed at a customer who use Skype. They want the firewall to control internet abuse and monitor people's traffic.

From what I have read it seems Skype is almost impossible to block, which we don't really want to do anyway, but I need Skype's traffic monitored. As it stands now, a user can use a lot of bandwidth send/rec files etc. without any trace.

Ideas please!!!!!

Thanks a lot

That's not too difficult

Create policy

Lan internet http permit
Lan internet https authenticated users

Then make sure http filter is set to

* all web pages authenticated users only

This makes sure that all traffic is redirected to kerio first for user authentication before allowing access to internet.
