Kerio has a feature that allows messages in the Deleted, Sent and Junk mail folders to be deleted after a specific amount of time. This feature can be setup for individual users or system-wide.

I am planning to restrict how long messages are kept in the Deleted and Sent Items folders. I would like to generate a report showing the size of these folders for each user. I have been looking for a way to generate this report but have not found a reporting mechanism in Kerio to do this. Is there something within Kerio that will generate such a report? If not, is there an external tool that will generate the report?

I will use this report to select a few of the larger users so I can test this feature before implementing it on a system-wide basis.

If all you want to do is monitor selected folders while you test the setup, a shell script will easily spit out the size of the various folders. Just loop through the users with 'du -hs <foldername>' and do whatever you want with the output.

for i in "scott tiger joe peter jamesf"
        du -hs "/opt/kerio/mailserver/store/mail/$i/Deleted Items"
