Hi,

We are seeing a strange issue on a server running Kerio Connect 7.2.0 build 3872 .
Today this happened for the second time, so since this is now a reoccurring issue, I thought I would make a post about it.

There is this message in the queue
/opt/kerio/mailserver/store/queue/0a/4e5f1736-000131bc.eml

Which seems invalid and keeps filling up the disk until it runs out of space. We tend to reach this point at 43GB.
The only way to release the space at this point is to remove the queue file by hand (rm) and then kill Kerio by hand (kill -9 pid of mailserver). After this, Kerio turns into a Zombie process as it releases the disk space (can take some time). When the zombie is gone, we can restart Kerio.

Upon investigation, we found that the message contains some mail headers followed by 43GB worth of colons (some data has been masked, but I think you'll get the point):
Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1])
        by mail.*********.com;

From: "******* ********" <**********<_at_>*********.com>

How can this happen? And most important, what can we do to prevent this?

Kind regards,

Koen

Upgrade to Kerio Connect 7.2.0 patch 1 (build 4008) or higher. It's fixed there.

Thanks, we'll look into applying the patch or upgrading to 7.2.3 .
