I bet Exchange returns more than just the string "5.3.5". Tell us what it says, and feel free to include som interesting log snippets from Exchange as well.

According to

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/284204/en-us

5.3.5

is a loopback error. Microsoft suggests the following:

Quote:
Numeric Code: 5.3.5

Possible Cause: A loop-back situation where the server is configured to loop back on itself was detected.

Troubleshooting: If you have multiple SMTP virtual servers that are configured on your Exchange computer, make sure that they are serving unique incoming ports and that the outgoing SMTP port configuration is valid to avoid looping between local virtual servers. Check the configuration of the server's connectors for loops. For example, make sure that no connectors exist that have the address space of the local organization, unless you share the domain and you do not select Use DNS to route to each address space on this connector. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
321721 Sharing SMTP address spaces in Exchange 2000 Server and Exchange Server 2003
Make sure that if there are multiple virtual servers, that none are set to All Unassigned.

the full error is as follows

<mail@satnet.co.za<_at_>pop3.lantic.net> (titan.satnet.co.za: Mailbox invalid o
r does not exist)
Original-Recipient:
Final-Recipient: unknown;mail@satnet.co.za<_at_>pop3.lantic.net
Action: failed
Status: 5.3.5
Diagnostic-Code: SMTP; Mailbox invalid or does not exist

We are only running a single SMTP Server on this site, and on the 3 other sites i tested this with Exchange is not returning any failures the failure is from kerio connet itself. I also setup a gmail account to forward mails to the Kerio user and the same problem arrises.

I don't understand, to be perfectly honest.
You're saying that you are sending mail from four different servers to the same account (in all cases) on a Kerio Connect server, but only one of those four non-KC servers throws this error?

There is a problem in your destination e-mail address:

mail@satnet.co.za<_at_>pop3.lantic.net

You can either address to mail@satnet.co.za or mail<_at_>pop3.lantic.net

this is want we need to do. we have a client who works at to different companies, he want all his mail that is sent to Company A with the exchange server to be sent to his kerio mail at company b this does not work. I thought maybe it was only that one kerio server that was the problem so i forwarded the mail from Company A exchange to one of the other Kerio servers and the same message gets returned. I then tried to see if it was an exchange problem so i forwarded all mail from a gmail account to the kerio mail at company b and the same error message was returned.

Does this help ?

I think you may have set up the forwarding on the Exchange server wrong (it happens), and that the MX for the domain where you're forwarding mail to is set to the Exchange server. But it's hard to say without the real domain names and the real account names.
