Hi,

I'm using KWF 6. Installed it yesterday so I'm kinda new to it.
I am currently configuring the traffic policy for the NAT.

I have only 2 computers. 1 desktop with KWF6 using NAT and DHCP and 1 laptop with direct connection to the desktop (no hub/switch/router).
2 NICs in desktop: 1 for internet connection and 1 for the LAN.
Everything seems to work fine except when I try to connect with MSN from the laptop.
It wont connect eventhough I have allowed traffic on Windows Messenger. It connects on the desktop..
I find it very odd. I have also tried to only allow traffic on port 1863 but it simply wont connect.
If I set KWF to allow ANY service it connects but then I open up everything on the network and then one can wonder what the point is to use a firewall. Smile
If I remove the Windows Messenger service the desktop can't connect and that is how it supposed to work, isn't it.
Btw, I use trillian but when I tried the standalone MSN 6.2 client it wouldn't connect either.

Does anyone have a clue? Everything else (at least up till now) works fine on both laptop and desktop.

Thanks!

I have a similar problem. I can connect with MSN 6.2 with standard configuration no the firewall, but unable to connect with trillian. I have noticed that the MSN service in kerio its pointless since if you deny it it still connect.

Solved it by running the traffic policy wizard again and then I added Windows Messenger on both NAT and Firewall Traffic.

Now I'm stuck with another problem (see other thread).
