Kerio Connect 7.3.0 - November 8, 2011

64-bit Outlook support and Kerio Outlook Connector performance improvements
Many customers and partners have requested a 64-bit version of the Kerio Outlook Connector
(Offline Edition). We listened. With Kerio Connect 7.3, users can now confidently use 64-bit
versions of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office. Performance has been significantly increased
in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions when performing complex searches, sorting folders
with large volumes of mail, and using the group by conversation function.

iOS 5 Support
Kerio Connect 7.3 features full support for the new Apple iOS 5. In addition to supporting
the new mobile OS, Kerio Connect takes advantage of some cool new functionality including
Add/Delete/Rename calendars on your device, Read/Send S/MIME signed or encrypted
emails on your device, and Synchronize Tasks to/from the Reminders App on your device
and the Kerio Connect server.

Account Assistant for Apple Mac OS X clients
Integration with the Mac has just gotten even easier. Kerio Connect 7.3 includes a new auto
configuration tool for Apple Mail. To make client configuration for the Mac even easier, all
of the auto configuration tools for Apple Mail, iCal, Address Book, Microsoft Outlook and
Entourage have been unified into a single tool the Account Assistant for Mac OS X.

Configuration Profile for Apple iOS
Users can now setup Mail, Contacts and Calendars in their Apple iOS device using a single
Configuration Profile using either Exchange ActiveSync or CalDAV, CardDAV and IMAP.

Full Text Search in WebMail and IMAP
Kerio WebMail and IMAP now features full text search! Users can now search for text strings
within the body of their emails, not just message headers. Full text search works in Quick
Search returning results from the current folder, and in Advanced Search returning results
from entire mailbox. Because Full Text Search inherently puts additional resource strain
on CPU, memory and disk performance, the default state is disabled. Full Text Search can
be turned on in Kerio Connect Administration under Configuration/Advanced Options/Store
Directory/Enable Full Text Search.

Extended Out of Office settings
Users can now specify the precise time period (date and time) for Out of Office messages in
WebMail, Kerio Outlook Connector and other client applications.

Message Store Stability and Performance Improvements
Kerio Connect 7.3 boasts a number of improvements to the message store: automatic detection
and correction of broken index files has been improved; corrupted user mailboxes and public
folders can now be corrected from within the administration interface - no more stopping
the mail server; and performance of move/delete operations of message store items has been
improved.

Improved Usability and Performance in Kerio Connect Administration
No more paging hassle in Kerio Connect Administration. Paging has been removed from all
of the Accounts panes - Users, Groups, etc., and from the Services and Domains panes under
Configuration. Administrators can now simply scroll through all values in each list, saving time
and clicks in larger deployments. For performance reasons, panes with autorefresh (Message
Queue, Active Connections & Open Folders) will retain paging. Performance when switching
from one pane to another has also been improved.

Support Incident within administration interface
The administrator can now report to Kerio Support directly from the administration interface.
No more bothering with credentials and hunting logs and appropriate information when
something is wrong. Just a few of clicks and problem is reported.

Unsupported Exchange ActiveSync devices
Administrators can now easily allow synchronization of unsupported Exchange ActiveSync
devices by simply checking a check box in the administration interface.

Enhanced Security with Password Guessing Protection (Antihammering)
Kerio Connect now protects users from outside attackers attempting to guess weak passwords.
With a simple preconfigured setting, administrators can now block IP addresses suspicious of
account and password guessing attacks.

Improved Quota Warnings and Notifications
Administrators now have the flexibility to specify the threshold at which to trigger a user's
quota warning in addition to how many warnings are issued. Warning notifications can also
be sent to an individual, a group, or a mail list.

SSL certificates and photos in GAL
SSL certificates and photos stored in the directory service are now synchronized to the Global
Address List. Users no longer need to send a public certificate to recipients of encrypted
emails.

Kerberos User Authentication Stability Improvement
User authentication on Linux and Mac OS X systems using Kerberos 5 was improved to be more
resistant to DNS misconfiguration. Kerberos authentication is now handled with a separate
process to ensure highest reliability and minimal delay.

Recurrent Tasks
Recurrent tasks are now synchronized between Kerio Outlook Connector (Offline Edition), Microsoft
Outlook 2011 for Mac, and Kerio WebMail.

Platforms with Discontinued Support

PowerPC Mac
Internet Explorer 6
Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Non x64 Mac platform (Core 1 Single, Core 1 Duo)

Does it mean for the server or the client? My Kerio server is running on Intel 10.4 and I still have users running 10.4 on their computers. Am I able to upgrade Kerio server to 7.3? Are those 10.4 users affected in any way?

For system requirements (specifically for server, end user, and migration tools) please see http://www.kerio.com/connect/requirements

In Connect 7.3 was discontinued Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) on server and also on client machines (for Kerio Sync Connector, Microsoft Entourage, Apple iCal, Apple Address Book).

This means that we do not actively block these platforms, so the user can still use them but only on her/his risk. We do not test unsupported platforms, so we are not aware of possible issues.

READ BEFORE INSTALLATION OF 7.3!!!
After installation, all Motorola Android devices stopped being able sync mail. Contacted Kerio and support confirm that this is a known bug with MotoBlur. We have to configure all phones with Exchange sync for Contacts and Calendar only. And then configure additional IMAP account for mail sync.
