Looking at the reported SpamAssassin version in Kerio 7.3 I am disappointed, it is still

SpamAssassin version 3.2.5

Given that the actual version is

SpamAssassin version 3.3.2

and that this has been out since June-2011, I don't understand why Kerion didn't upgrade. Spam evolves rapidly and using years old rules is not helping combating spam. Also, the new version would support the widely used Spamhaus DBL (Domain Block List).

Can someone from Kerio give some hint, when Spamassassin will be updated again?

Thanks.

SpamAssassin 3.3.x is planned to Kerio Connect 7.4.0 - we are working on it and bug is still opened so I cannot promise you it.

It appears that the new version of Spamassassin is 3.4. It includes a new ruleset for Mailspike which I am interested in. Any chance of seeing the newest version of Spamassassin?

The latest stable version is SpamAssassin 3.3.2.
You can use own DNS blacklists directly into Kerio Connect if you want to: http://manuals.kerio.com/connect/adminguide/en/sect-spamblac klist.html

Kerio Connect 7.4, according to the beta information on the site, is updating the SpamAssassin version. It does say to which version number though. Hopefully they go to the latest release possible.

I had Mailspike added as a blacklist but it seemed to want to tag most everything. Even contacted Mailspike support but they weren't able to help. They did mention that SA 3.4 will include a ruleset for them and pointed me to it. I am going to try that instead of the blacklist to see how that works. But this is why I was interested in SA version 3.4, looking for the updated ruleset.

What is strange is that I have another Kerio install that isn't behaving this way. No clue why.

Just wanted to thank Kerio that they included the latest version of Spamassassin in KC 7.4, it works very well for me. It also includes the Spamhaus DBL now, which catches a lot of Spam.

Once again, thanks for that.
