Hallo

I have an Mac OS X Server 10.6.8 with OpenDirectory and Apple Mail Server. And I like to install Kerio Connect on the same Server.

How can i migrate the data form the Old Mail Server (Best course of action)?

Thanks

Regards

Florian

I don't think there is an easy way to migrate the data if you install Kerio on the same machine as your existing mail server. I would recommend you to install Kerio on a different server, and use kimt tool to migrate the data over by IMAP. Then, after the migration is complete, move the Kerio store onto your existing server.

Or configure Kerio Connect for alternative ports (e.g. original port + 10000 = 10143 for IMAP etc.), migrate data with KIMT ( http://www.kerio.com/connect/imap-migration-tool ), shutdown and disable Apple Mail Server and configure Kerio Connect back to default ports.

But how does that above suggestion work? From what I read in the documentation the Kero Imap Migration tool needs imap to be running on 143. Opening the migration program I don't see any options for setting the port number for the servers.

use imapcopy or imapsync as another option.

Thanks for the tips. I am trying to even see if an imap transfer is even a good option as I tent to prefer users create another IMAP account in their clients and then move over messages as needed. Of course the only way for this to work would be for the second account to have a different password so that the first IMAP account won't try to accidentally connect up to the new server and delete all messages currently in the inbox.
