Weird problem here. I have Kerio configured as LDAP address book in Mozilla Thunderbird and it works just fine. Searching for "John" returns seven results, mixed between my personal contacts and a public address book that I have subscribed to.

Using the same parameters in ldapsearch on Linux however only returns three results and ignores the other four completely. I was able to discover that for ldapsearch to work an entry requires a valid email address (which is weird) but that only explains one missing John, the other three have valid addresses but are still not found by ldapsearch. However, if I specifically search for one of them using "(sn=Doe)" then ldapsearch does return the particular result that doesn't show up in the entire list.

Any idea? My entire search string is as follows:

ldapsearch -x -h ldapserver -b fn=ContactRoot -D myuser<_at_> -w mypassword -a always -s sub -z 0 -l 0
