I'm interested in this too. There are too many "unknowns" and I wish there were simple white papers to explain the configuration.

To all,
I had installed directly on CF from CD. But the CF must been seen and more then 8GB big.
Did installation on 16Gb CF disk from Scandisk. Works perfect.
