Hello,

is it safe to host KWS on a public server?

What steps should be taken to secure KWS?
(E.g. there's no anti-hammering or other security features availabe.)

Just do the usual.
So something like, AFP (only open the ports you really need 80,443,4060) + anti-ddos and something like DenyHosts/Fail2ban and a decent SSH setup.
And don't forget your SSL certificate off course.
Should be fairly safe that way unless you were planning to use a windows machine instead of Linux then forget all the above.
