I've got a sender receiving the following error: "5.2.3 Message exceeds maximum fixed size (20480000)"

I'm assuming that the number in parentheses is the max message size (in bytes or Kb?) as defined by KC, but I can't find anywhere where I've set a maximum size.

I'm running 7.3.2 on Mac OS X using ClamXav for my AV. I just upgraded to 7.3.2 and updated ClamXav on Feb 20 (a week ago) and started having the problems later that week.

Is the error from KC or from ClamXav?

Thanks for your help.

Cheers,
Jon

Is that someone sending from your KC server to an external address? (e.g. Hotmail)?

The limit seems to be 20 MB.

Most probably the recipient has set this limit. So it is not a problem on your end.

Pavel,

Thank you. After I saw your reply, I did go back to a couple of the delivery errors that I was forwarded and re-read them.

I also created one on my server and was able to confirm that their server was rejecting the outgoing message.

Thanks to everyone who contributed.

Cheers,
Jon
