Hi forum

i tried to migrate an 7.2.3 Kerio Mailserver on a PowerPC XServe running 10.5.8 to a Kerio running on Windows 2008R2 on a IBM Server.

I did a full Backup without running TimeMachine in background. I copied the files (58 files each 2GB) to the IBM Server. I started kmsrecover:

C:\Kerio\MailServer>kmsrecover.exe c:\NeuerKerioOrdner\MailStore
Running kmsrecover will modify the Kerio Connect store directory.
You should use it only if your store directory has been damaged.
Current data will be DELETED and recovered from the backup,
all changes since the last backup will be lost.
Are you sure you want to continue (yes/no): yes

C:\Kerio\MailServer>

I tried Kerio 7.2.3 and Kerio 7.3.2 on IBM Server. Took 3.5hrs each run and after file 30 it says completed but there are 28 more files.

The file 30 and 31 can be unzipped without any errors.

Any ideas what to do?

Thank you in advance

Looks like kmsrecover is choking on writing a particular file; "code 14" is a write error. You can get those even if the zip file is okay. Have you tried running kmsrecover with the --verbose option to see excactly where it stops? The --listing option can also be helpful to list the contents of the backup.

Unpack store mail/*DOMAIN*/*USER*/INBOX/Eingang gesichtet.../deleted.fld

can the "..." be the error?

i tested the ZIP File with WinRAR and it tells me it cant read the files in that dir.
i tried to repair the ZIP archive with WinRAR but got the same error.

i will rename the Dir when i reactivte the old Mailserver, do another Backup and try the recovery again.

That could be it. From what I can tell, a normal Windows install limits the max path to 260 characters.
