Hi,

Has anyone figured out how to pass out the address of the tftp server using dhcp_option_66 Mac OSX Server's DHCP server?

Specifically I am using 10.6.8 server.

I found these references:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2516293?start=0&tst art=0
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2516293?start=0&tst art=0
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1274512?start=30&ts tart=0

and used this tool:
http://web.me.com/jelockwood/MyUtilities/dhcp.html

I have tried configuring bootdp.plist seperately with each of the following

<key>dhcp_option_66</key>
<data>
192.168.0.10
</data>

<key>dhcp_option_66</key>
<data>
wKgACg==
</data>

<key>dhcp_option_66</key>
<data>
MTkyLjE2OC4wLjEw
</data>

But I am not getting success. I am using ipconfig getpacket en0 to check whether the server is passing out anything for option 66, but I do not see any values passed.

Thanks,

ft.

Use version 1.1 of John Lockwood's utility and specify option code type as 'null-terminated string'

eg. your TFTP server address 192.168.0.10

<key>dhcp_option_66</key>
<data>
MTkyLjE2OC4wLjEwAA==
</data>
