I have spent the last two months working with the Blackberry Express Server. I can start with a fresh 2008 server install and get BES up and running and the Blackberry users connected.

If the machine crashes or otherwise gets restarted then the system stops working and all I get is a MAPI Error. BES won't start, users can't send or receive and the Kerio Blackberry Connector software won't open - it just says that there is a MAPI error. I have tried re-installing the Kerio Blackberry Connector and it always responds with a MAPI error and won't install. I have also tried to uninstall BES and Kerio BC but end up getting the same error and then Kerio BC won't finish installing. I then re-install the operating system and everything else from scratch to get it running again.

I finally ended up putting this on a virtual machine and created a snapshot that allows me to restore it to active service. Is anyone else having this same problem with BES and the Connector?

The error I get in the Kerio Debug Log is:
{err}{mapi-interface} In Server\ServiceEntry.cpp:114 (ServiceEntry)
[#0000] (common) Exception of class HResultException: Service\ConfiguratorCREATE.cpp(41), ConfiguratorCREATE::execute:

I don't have the exact BES error since it gets erased everytime I restore the VM, but it basically says that it can't connect to MAPI (through the Kerio Blackberry Connector).
