Hi,

I currently try to migrate Kerio Workspace 2.0.0. Beta 5 from a Macosx 10.6.8 Server to a Macosx 10.7.3 Server.

Procedure:

- Install: latest WP Version 1
- Install: WP 2.0 Beta 5
- restore workspace.cfg
- restore lastest Backup of Kerio 2.0 Beta 5
- Start Kerio 2.0 Beta 5 on the new 10.7.3 Server

Here is what I get:

[14/May/2012 01:06:55] {com.kerio.workspace} INFO: Kerio Workspace 2.0.0 beta 5 build 173 started

To fix it, I moved the DataDir from /Kerio_Workspace to /usr/local/kerio/workspace/store, then it works.
What's wrong with this path? I tried also /Volumes/Data/Data/Kerio/Workspace .... etc. nothing works. I would prefer to move the datastore to a 2nd disk, which is not vmware snapshoted.

[14/May/2012 01:39:16] {com.kerio.workspace} INFO: Store path=/usr/local/kerio/workspace/store

Thanks
Henri

Have you checked the following table in the workstation.cfg

<table name="Properties">
<variable name="ConfigVersion">1</variable>
<variable name="DataDir">/opt/kerio/workspace/store</variable>
<variable name="DefaultFavorites">1</variable>
<variable name="IndexVersion">3</variable>
</table>

I am evaluating using the appliance. The path is /opt/kerio/workspace

Note: I expected to find a location for changing this in Administrator but could not locate it.

Hi,

sure I have edited the file a lot, after I change the location of the data.
You have to stop Workspace, move the files and change the DataDir tag in the cfg file.
When you check the pasted log, Workspaces denied to use the DB and accepted the same (moved) data on a different location. So my question is still why is the entered location not accepted by Workspace and which rules apply here to accept or refuse the location.

Thanks
Henri

Hello Henri,

Have you tried linking the store folder to your new location? Or if you are going to a SAN and NFS Mounted remoted drive, mounting the remote data as using the work workspace path.

We run Kerio Connect 7.x hosted service. Our backup server which is a VM uses an nfs mount for data so that we can snapshot data.

So I am very interested in your problem and experience since if we adopt Workspace as a solution, we can build flexible on site and remote backup plans for Business Continuity and DR needs.

I will do some experimentation.

Jake

Well, here it's an iScsi attached vsphere 5 RAW Disk. From Macs Point of view, just a Second hfs+ formated Hdd. So it's not rolled back at a vSphere snapshot restore.
