I started getting these messages yesterday & I haven't even sent a message to the particular users that the email cites, does anyone know what this is?

This is an informative message sent by Kerio MailServer 5.7.9 at mail.myserver.com.
The server was not able to deliver your mail message to the following addresses:

<user<at>myserver.com> (mail.myserver.com: Antivirus check cannot be performed)

This is just a temporary error. The server will continue to attempt to deliver
the message. If the message cannot be delivered in the defined time limit you will
be informed again.

2 possibilities:

1) Either this is an external mail with spoofed sender or

2) you have a problem with the AV engine

for 1) please send the full message with all headers so we can see the route of the mail

for 2) can you send a screenshot of your AV config screen.

Pascal

ok, here are my AV configurations. One thing is that this only started after I installed the License for KMS with McAfee AV - when I was just running the trial version I didn't get these emails.

Config seems to be ok.

Can you switch on debugging of the virus scanner? To do this go to:

Logs > Debug

On the right pane, right-click > Set Log events...

Choose "Advanced" and then "Antivirus Check Processing"

Then wait until it happens again. Please send an excerpt of the log from the time when the mail arrives.

Pascal

do you have any other antivirus running on this system? it might be that that antivirus is scanning your kerio mail queue and removing/cleaning/blocking the queue file before it can be accessed by kerio/antivirus

pay it forward

yep, it looks like I do have Norton AV installed & when I checked it was indeed removing messages from the Kerio queue. Thanks for your help!

How strange... I turned Kerio AV checking off & I'm still getting the messages. That just doesn't make sense to me. Any ideas??

leave kerios av on, turn off nortons, or at least stop it from checking that mail queue directory. basically, kerios saying it cant find that email once norton takes it out.

pay it forward

I finally got this resolved. Forcing Norton to skip the Kerio folder worked like a charm! thank you :)
