Enable DHCP Server.
Users are created with theirs respective IPs.
The IPs are static.
The IPs were linked with MAC of each machine.

On Active Hosts I have some weird thing happening

1º I have 2 hostname in activity using the same name. But they
DON´T have same name.

2º The hostname "jrsp64" is a VM that I am using. I don´t have any sort of outlook installed but on Active Host show´s me that I am downloading messages from some pop3. So I assume that is using the Ip of someone else.

3º The ip of "jrsp64" is 192.168.0.173 on Kerio the "jrsp64" is 192.168.0.104.

Anyone have any information about this issue?

I appreciate any help.

It seems DNS/DHCP doesn't release that very well.
Seen this problem before with only Control as DHCP/DNS server.
After reboot it was clean and problem did occur anymore.

Hi ICT and Me,

1º DHCP server is running on Win2k8
2º DHCP server is running on K.Control
Are both with exactly same rules and configuration.

Do u reckon that the problem is the DHCP of K.Control? Should I start the service (DHCP) in another server?

Just use only the DHCP/DNS of your W2k8 server. No DHCP on Control.
If you use both then you must know what you are doing. The most common mistake will be to use the same DHCP range on both systems. So a IP will given out twice, because Control isn't talking with your W2k8 DHCP and DNS.
If you have two W2k8 servers with DHCP/DNS and create both DHCP in the right way, the DNS will keep track of the right IP/Device.

I started using the DHCP of Control cause some connections (Laptops e Mobiles) weren´t being controlled by the Win2K8 (I have 4 AP in total all over the place, all 4 are with DHCP disabled).
I have more problems that I thought. Sad

So, In a nut shell I can´t trust on DHCP of Control so then I have to turn it off and start the service on my old Win2K3 with Win2k8 who´s already running ?!

Tks

if you have 2 dhcp server they need to have different ranges...
1. 192.168.0.10-192.168.0.150
2. 192.168.0.151-192.168.0.254

Question cannot be stupid, but some of the answers can.
