When deleting or moving lots of messages, more than a hundred or so, I get an alert that says Connection to server timed out. Can I adjust the time-out duration?

I suppose you're talking about Apple Mail. Am I right?
There is no known way how to configure it in Apple Mail client.

Thanks for the response. Yes, I am talking about Apple Mail. I can delete a page full emails (200 max) in the Kerio webmail client. I have web administrator access to Kerio. Is there a way to adjust the time-out setting there?

I have looked high and low in both the Kerio support pages as well as the web administration client to no avail.

The timeout is in Apple Mail client. It cannot be adjusted on server.
