The web interface of our Connect server is extremely slow. Sending an email takes up to 10 minutes after pushing the send button. Log-in takes up to 4 minutes.

We already disabled full text search / disabling anti-virus / checking attacks. The Connect uses up top 30% - 80% of CPU usage.

We are using Connect on a Windows 2008 Server Standard.

Does anybody has some suggestions where we ca start our journey to solve this issue?

Thanks to the support the following solution helps:

Logfile:
[17/Jul/2012 12:40:52] SpamClient.cpp: Unable to initialize plugin, error: TimeOut for response has expired
[17/Jul/2012 12:40:52] SpamClient.cpp: Server: Spamassassin plugin cannot be initialized.
[17/Jul/2012 12:40:52] SpamClient.cpp: Server: Spamassassin plugin failed to start, next try is planned after 120 seconds.
[17/Jul/2012 12:40:52] SpamClient.cpp: SpamAssassin cannot learn xxxxxxx.eml as spam/ham.

Solution:
(1) Stop Kerio Connect and locate the installation directory (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Kerio\MailServer\).
(2) Delete the content of ..\plugins\spamassassin\ sub-directory in there.
(3) Locate the store directory (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Kerio\MailServer\store\).
(4) Delete the content of ..\spamassassin\bayes\ sub-directory in there.
(5) Download the latest setup package of Kerio Connect from our website (e.g. http://download.kerio.com/dwn/kerio-connect-win32.exe), run it and choose 'Repair' installation.
(6) Start Kerio Connect.

Additional to this, we had a problem wit the Symantec Endpoint Protection with full enabled Application Control. After disable application control all is back to normal.

With SEP you HAVE to exclude your message store and the location of your backups (if they are not within your store). If you let it, SEP will delete your entire backup on a routine scan... Confused

good tip to exclude the dirs, because in case of an email virus the whole file might be deleted and this is not that what we want as backup Wink thanks for this important reminder
