I was checking the Error Log and saw numerous of the following messages pairs for a user.

[03/Aug/2012 10:02:45] user_stats.cpp: Storage quota for user xxxxxxx<_at_>thomasalleninc.com falls below zero: attempt to decrement from 0 by 3310
[03/Aug/2012 10:02:45] user_stats.cpp: Message quota for user xxxxxxx<_at_>thomasalleninc.com falls below zero: attempt to decrement from 0 by 1

The "decrement by" number of the first message is always different while the second is always the same. These error messages are only showing for this user. Also I do not have quotas turned on.

When I check the users stats in the Adminstration Utility they show all her counts to be zero. I checked with the user and email is working correctly. Email is being sent and received with no problem, old emails are still available.

Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on with this users account?

We are running Kerio 7.2.2 on Windows Server 2003.

It appears that occupied mailbox space is not counted correctly for this user. You can try to stop the server and remove stats.usr file from user's mailbox. It should re-count mailbox size.

Can you upgrade the system? I was having this same issue on 7.2

We are now on 7.3.3 which resolved that issue after an automatic reindex of the users account.

It only causes a problem as such if you have a quota set for the user, as this fault will allow them to go over quota.

I do not have quotas set for anyone. I plan to upgrade over Labor Day weekend so there is ample time for the reindexing processing to complete with the least amount of impact on users.

Thanks for the reply.

Jamesf,

You shouldn't need to wait that long.

One thing I've found Kerio does pretty well, is upgrades. I don't know how many users you have, but I've never had an upgrade take more than a few minutes. I always snapshot the VM so I can roll it back if I encounter a problem, but I haven't used it as I've not had an upgrade go pear-shaped yet. One caveat is that if you don't have an adequate backup plan, the evil spirits will insure you are the exception to the smooth upgrade norm.

Mid 2015: Quit Kerio and moved to Exchange 2013 and Meraki.
Kerio Control 8.4.0--Used since it was WinRoute, many years ago
Kerio Connect 8.4.0 on Ubuntu. Bought Connect just in time for the switch to NO SUPPORT(aka pay for support). Not. Happy.

So far upgrades have been flawless for me but I am waiting because my understanding is when you upgrade to 7.3 and above there is a reindexing phase that is time consuming and affects performance until it completes. Therefore I want to do the upgrade when very few users will be accessing the system.
