Hi there,

some of our users complain, that all messages in Outlook are shown in plain text.

Architecture:
Kerio Connect 7.4.2
Kerio Offline Connector
Outlook 2007 / Outlook 2010
Windows XP SP3, Windows 7
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 at clients

I saw a thread in this forum from 2 years ago where the same problem was described, but not finally solved. There it figured out, that the AV modifies the messages and Kerio has problems to handle them correctly afterwards.

Here is a kind of brainstorming with information about this issue:
- several identical installed clients - some have the problem some not
- I deleted the windows user profile on the PC and reconfigured Outlook -> problem gone
- the web-client still shows the correct format
- messages once shown as plain text in Outlook are still plain text in Outlook after reconfiguration
- I once managed to open a message directly from the desktopmessage on incoming mails and it was shown in HTML. When I opened the message from Outlook again, it was plain text
- the parameter in Outlook to show all messages as plain text is not set

My questions:
- what parameter at Kaspersky could be responsible for this issue?
- do I have the chance to repair the messages already markes as plain text?
- is Kerio going to solve this problem with the various AV?

ok, as nobody is interested in this topic, I post this solution for my own tracking Twisted Evil :
we allowed our users to install an outlook add-in called "reply with attachments" by slipstick systems. This add-in crashed the communication between outlook and kerio connect.
solution: deinstall "reply with attachments"

Thanks for posting the solution.

I see that a lot that Outlook plugins cause strange behaviour. Troubleshooting always starts with disabling all AddIns and checking if now everything works.

I normally disable all unneeded AddIns like Bluetooth, Business Connectivity, Social Connector etc.

Is there a proper fix/workaround for this? Disabling all other add ins that modify emails in Outlook is NOT a solution. This a problem with Kerio and needs to be fixed and ASAP!!
