Ever since we upgraded from 7.3.2 to 7.4.2, many of legitimate email has been marked as spam. It seems like the spam filter is not smart enough compare with 7.3.2. Most of the rating is above 5 (default score).

Anyone facing this issue? What is the workaround?

Take below 2 as example I found in the Security log. It said it found both IPs in DNS blacklist but when I checked at _http:_//www.mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx, it's untrue.

[11/Sep/2012 15:10:05] IP address 203.254.224.25 found in DNS blacklist SpamHaus SBL-XBL, mail from <sam.fam@samsung.com> to <melissasu<_at_>chinashipping.com.my>

[11/Sep/2012 15:20:33] IP address 220.241.186.241 found in DNS blacklist SORBS DNSBL, mail from <liulei@cnshipping.com> to <agency<_at_>chinashipping.com.my>

What can I do from here?

Please post the headers of a mail that is marked as Spam.

I had the same issues and the problem was that Bayes marked all the mails as Spam. In the end, I reset the Bayes Spam DB and all was fine again.

Yes, the header are tagged with BAYES_99.

1) May i know how you reset the Bayes DB?

2) After reset, Bayes will deactivated. May I know during this time does spam email will get into Inbox?

3) Mind to share what is your Spam rating limits for Tag & Block score?

  1. Resetting the Bayes: All components of the Bayes filter are located in the Kerio MailServer store directory under /spamassassin/bayes/. To reset the Bayes, simply rename, or delete the bayes folder, then restart Kerio MailServer.
  2. After the reset, Bayes has to learn again. It will get active after it has learned 200 spams and 200 hams. During this time, you might get more spam.
  3. Tag = 5.0, Block = 9.9.
