Hi,

I have recently downloaded and installed a trial version of Kerio Mailserver 5.7.4 which I have installed on a newly deployed Windows Server 2003 Web Edition.
So far so good.

Now, I can connect to the admin interface when logged in locally on the webserver, and I have no problems setting up domains and user accounts in the admin interface.

The problem arises when I try to connect to the mailboxes from my email client (Outlook Express).
I set up the client to connect to mailserver: Mymailservername with the correct password, but I keep getting errors saying that the password is incorrect. This I have verifyid to be the correct on.

I didn't set up pop3 download as I understand is only for retrievel from remote accounts/domains.

What did I miss?

Also, could anyone provide me with some basic info on how to connect to the webmail?
What do one have to type in to the browser adress bar to connect to the newly created accounts in the webmail?

Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

What user name did you put in Outlook Express? It should be the full e-mail address of the user.

For Web Mail, http://Mymailservername should work. Also, the user name should be the full e-mail addres (for the default domain, user name only will do).

Why do you go for 5.7.4? I would download the latest version (5.7.10) from www.kerio.com.

Hi Pascal,

Thanks for the quick reply.
Here is exactly what I did.

- I set up a new domain - havensupport.dk which i set to local.

- I set up a user account - thomas, which I set with basic authentication for Kerio Mailserver.
I use no forward and one IP adress only for this user name.

When I wrote that I was trying to connect to "Mymailservername", this was the domain havensupport.dk.
I didn't try to connect to the servername or the server-domain-name itself, just the username on the local domain within the mail server.

I hope this give a better view of what I have setup so far.
Also, I have used the pop3 download from the beginning but I removed the settings for this as I understand that this is only used when one wants to receive email from remote servers. Is that correct.

Which patch do you have to specify to connect to the webmail?
I have opened the corresponding ports in my router and activated the webmail, but I can't seem to find the correct path in the browser adress bar.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Thomas

Regarding the path for webmail: You need of course a DNS entry for your Mail server, for example mail.havensupport.dk.

If you have that, then you can use

http://mail.havensupport.dk/

If you don't have that you can still try with the IP address of your mail server, e.g.:

http://64.34.155.4/

also make sure that your webservice is running in kerio. If your iis is running a site in port 80, your kerio web service might not start.

since youre accessing from outlook, make sure your pop before smtp is set ok.

pay it forward
